You choose or you lose

Or at the very least keep giant corporate box stores from taking over communities, stealing jobs, and slowly destroying individualism. Seriously you know those 60's sci fi movies where everybody is wearing a one piece silver jumpsuit? You laugh now. -SPK

Ahoy, Colton sails, he's a sailor, he sails !

I took my son sailing for the first time yesterday, he loved it. Its so amazing to think about all the things he gets to do for the first time. I'm so stoked to think that now he can dream about waves, wind, sailboats, and sunsets and just the other day he had never seen them before. -SPK

Board Silly

TSJ | POV - "Dan Malloy & Dane Reynolds Board Swap" from The Surfer's Journal on Vimeo.

I really dig this little video cause I love boards. I love funky shaped surf, skate, or snowboards and I have the full basement to prove it! Just watching these dudes rip on those wacky shapes and on such small waves is insane. Just goes to to show its always worth a go out. And I think I might just dust of some of the old boards I have and give'em a go. -SPK

Late nights

So now that I have a baby I've found myself up at the craziest hours of the night. He wakes up, I deal with him he falls back asleep and I'm up wide awake. So out of total boredom heres a pic from one of my many late night wake ups. This is the view from sitting in front of my computer looking back into the living room.

Here are some points of interest:

1. Baby toys we have tons of them.
2. My Vans shoe rack 40 strong!
3. A Belikin Beer glass from Belize
4. More baby toys
5. Half watching The Present for the hundredth time.
6. An old style skateboard I made out of oak. If you want one just let me know,
I'll be sure to never get around to making it for you.
7. My laptop that I hardly use since I got a new I Mac.

Gee wasn't that fun. -SPK
