We camped here at Hookena Beach Park on the big island of Hawaii. We pulled into the park at night and it looked like a dump, but when we woke up in the morning it turned out to be awesome! The lot was tucked back on the edge of a little cove that sat at the bottom of a long set of bumpy switch back turns. We rolled out of bed and straight away noticed a pod of dolphins in the cove about 30yards off shore, boom we were on it! The water was crystal clear all the way to the bottom about 40feet the dolphins were playing pass with a big piece of sea weed that they never let hit the ground. It was insane they let us swim with them for about 20mins then they just swam off. It was so amazing, the kind of thing people plan whole trips around and we just fell out of bed into it. Just goes to show you what happens when you put yourself out there. Oh yeah the picture, I had dinged up my board up a few days earlier on Oahu, a brand new board hence the face. We never got any pics of the dolphins so this ding repair pic is just an excuse to tell my crazy dolphin story. Peace SPK
