THE NEW STICK : FLEX PIG

I ordered a flex pig from Gene a few months ago and it showed up just in time to get the last day of swell from Katia, its so rad! Its surfs a lot different than any other board I own. Its round bottom forces you to pay attention you can't be sloppy on this thing. There is no drive off the tail its just a pivot so you have to make well planned turns, but getting on the nose is like stepping on the gas pedal, as you step up the board flexes and flattens out and off you go! Super fun! This is the only pic you get if you want to see the rest of it you'll have to catch me in the water. I stuffed it in to a rock the first day, so at least I got that first ding over with. Surf it like you stole it!

More spring brought to you by the backyard

I have this amazing magnolia tree in my backyard thats unwittingly become part of my surfing routine on both a daily and yearly basis. I come home from surfing walk out back, hang my suit on the tree grab the hose rinse it, and leave it there to dry. Every year like clock work, as soon as it starts getting a little warm in the winter rubber the tree reminds me with a burst of color thats its time to switch out to the spring suit. This makes the last couple of times I wash out my winter suit seem like a beautiful funeral for winter. R.I.P. 6mm rubber. -SPK

Spring Time

I was clearing out old pics off my computer this morning and came across this gem.



It's a big Cooperfish relaxing in the hammock out back. It just reminded me of today. I sold it right around this time last year. Then the we had like 9 days of waves straight, warm and sunny. I hope history repeats its self without me having to a sell a board -SPK
