It's hard to catch a comet

This is a picture story on my 29 hour non stop trip to Wrightsville Beach NC. Why you ask would a person drive all the way down there only to turn around and drive all the way back? Well for a very special surfboard thats why. I've been looking for a Cooperfish Comet for years now, and a couple weeks ago I found one down in NC. Bing, Bang, Boom! down and back thats how I roll. Pics of the board are coming so keep your pants on. -SPK

They moved it!

Any Outer Banks fan worth there weight in salt knows all about this house. I've been watching this dream house slowly inch its way into the Atlantic since my first visit to the windy sand spit over a decade ago. My parents brought us down to North Carolina in a motor home when I was fourteen, my brother ten, it made a lasting impression on both of us. We've both been back many times I've been twelve to be exact. Its become a ritual of sorts, something that just must be done at least once a year. The draw comes from seeing nature unmolested for the most part dueling with herself on open stretches of sand being brutalized by the relentless ocean waves and the fact that you can surf alone down there which in its self is priceless. I've spent a fair amount of time next to this house sitting watching waves. I've surfed out in front of it many times using it as reference point for how far and fast the current was pulling me. I've made mental note to myself on every visit of the houses progress into the waves and
I REALLY WANTED TO SEE THIS DAMN THING FALL IN! I CAN"T BELIEVE THEY MOVED IT....WHAT THE FUCK !

Old pics....good times

On our way down to NC we stopped of in VA. We surfed the jetty at the far end of Virginia Beach is was so much fun we stayed out until 9pm something finally spooked us. This pic was taken with a timer on the boardwalk.

There was a shower on the boardwalk.

My dad in the 60's?

No it's just me with a sketchy mustache. This pic is from a few years back on a trip to the OBX in NC. I've made the trip down to NC every fall for the past ten years. This year I've decided to skip it do to bad weather and good surf here at home. So ends the decade run. -SPK
