I have this amazing magnolia tree in my backyard thats unwittingly become part of my surfing routine on both a daily and yearly basis. I come home from surfing walk out back, hang my suit on the tree grab the hose rinse it, and leave it there to dry. Every year like clock work, as soon as it starts getting a little warm in the winter rubber the tree reminds me with a burst of color thats its time to switch out to the spring suit. This makes the last couple of times I wash out my winter suit seem like a beautiful funeral for winter. R.I.P. 6mm rubber. -SPK

Spring Time
I was clearing out old pics off my computer this morning and came across this gem.
It's a big Cooperfish relaxing in the hammock out back. It just reminded me of today. I sold it right around this time last year. Then the we had like 9 days of waves straight, warm and sunny. I hope history repeats its self without me having to a sell a board -SPK

Modern Surf Sled
Anyone that knows me is aware of my affinity for old things (usually broken things) well heres one of my favorite things that isn't so old, my car. I like to think of my car as a jet, I wish it was a jet. It's the perfect tool for quick strike surf missions. Good for all those days when life tries to keep me out of the water or the swell is fleeting. Living far from the surf has its challenges but sometimes overcoming them is half the fun. -SPK

John Cardiel is FUCKING SICK, theres no better way to put it and you have to swear because its the only way to even almost convey the level of intensity that is Cardiel. The dude rips, he got run over by a bus and hes still going. All Hail Cardiel !-SPK

For the past four years during first two week of march a few buddies and I have made the trip out to Seattle to visit friends and ride Steve's Pass. This year we decided not to go, big mistake! -SPK

Colton and the Van
My son might be the one person in this world that likes my van more than I do. I'm convinced if he could touch the pedals he'd be driving it. -SPK
