Dr. Dorian Paskowitz its a unique man who leads a very interesting life. Casting a side all the things most people consider necessities he lives the way he sees fit, which is incidentally to be fit. Hes written a great book called Surfing and Health that I think anyone interested in living well should check out. -SPK

Custom Vans
I built a custom van once. I'll be the first to admit the finish quality left something to be desired but the usability was through the roof! We had a blast cruzing all around the country surfing in that heap. These guys have a nice idea here I hope they can make it work, check out KARVE -SPK

Are you a Maineianc ?
This film will address the shocking reality that 94% of Maine's coastline is privately owned, making it subject to access restrictions that can prevent or restrict the use of tidal areas, water and waves. But it's also about the larger global question of what should be a bought-and-sold commodity, versus what belongs to all of us.
Ben's film is of importance not only to surfers, but also to anyone that believes certain resources belong in the public trust. Drinking water, fishing rights, river passage and more are among the resources that are under continual pressure of privatization. And though there are many good arguments for privatizing some things, the waves just aren't among them.
Help Ben make it happen at King Charles' Coast - Whose beach is it anyway?

Volcom changes their mind...
I assume after everyone accused them of trying to weasel out of the deal Volcom figured shit we have millions maybe we shouldn't be such douche bags and give this guy a break. So after originally being denied Zoltan gets his $10,000. Cause after all he did pull the first ride away kickflip on a surf board.
I'm going on the record as of now, Tardzinger will pay $10 to the first person to do a kickflip on a longboard and $20 dollars if it is over the lip. The money must be claimed in person so I can punch you in the face for make surfing look stupid. -SPK

Competitive surfing?
I was reading the Pioneers blog today about the ASP tour, I know there are alot of opinions about competitive surfing so here's mine. WHO CARES? but its not what you might think, I care. I care to watch it. I don't really care who wins. I don't surf anything like these people. I don't surf boards anything like the boards these people surf, but its interesting. So I say who cares if I like it. Who cares if you hate it.
To quote Bryan from Pioneers "When ever I get going on this topic I get a lot of people who look at me funny. They give me the "it's only surfing, don't take it so serious" or "how can you really care that much about surfing". What always cracks me up is that the people that give me shit are the same ones who would die for there favorite football team, LAME!!! I'll take cute girls in bikinis over fat dudes in spandex and pads ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!!! You can have your Bo Sox, I'm sticking with the ladies of ASP."
Amen brother!
Love or hate it just go surf but stay out of my way cause I'M COMPETITIVE -SPK

Somebody Sunday : Yancy Spencer III
I've surfed with Yancy during my brief stint in Florida it was about 12 years ago and he was ripping, had cool van too.
Yancy Spencer III passed last month while surfing Malibu, the man died surfing. Dying sucks but what are the chances your going to die doing what you love? I tell you they increase a lot when you make it a point to do what you love all the time. Thats what Yancy did, he surfed, he surfed alot. -SPK

Redwood
I've been out to see the redwoods many times. Some people have said to me they're just trees whats the big deal? These people have obviously never been. It's an awe inspiring feeling to be around such things, so big and old. It's impossible to explain and very hard to capture on film, this guy is a close as I've seen. Get your self out there you won't been disappointed. -SPK
